Faith Throughout

Today at my church my pastor interviewed Kevin Durant and they talked about how faith is different in everyone. The message was truly inspiring for me because growing up in the Bible Belt we sometimes only see church as a one way kind of thing. Given, I do not attend your "ordinary church" I go to LifeChurch, where our worship is like a rock concert for God and we have what they call church online. However, many members of my family still attend a small southern baptist church, which i sometimes go to. It's a great little place but I think it is only reaching a small audience. Not everyone's live are so simple, I know mine isn't and not everyone has the same interests.

Carl Lentz was a guest speaker this morning too, he is the pastor of a church in New York City called Hillsong. He also is the mentor and pastor to a few celebrities. He said he isn't the typical pastor because he gets a long a whole lot better with a guy in a bar than a man in a church office. He spoke about how God cannot limit only reaching one audience because there are so many lost people in the world that may never hear about God.

I pray that through my faith I will reach someone who can relate to me and my life. Throughout my sport and my passion I hope to be an example of what it is to have joy in your heart. Carl said you really can't do anything about what the spotlight shows you doing but you can always control what is happening in the shadows. KD followed that up with the fact that if you lead by example people will become curious of what you are doing. Both of these things can make it so much easier for you to minister to other.

I am so thankful for my church and the many people that have spoken into my life and increased my faith as a follower.

Here is a link to the service so you can watch it online (the video should  be up within this week!)
