Snow Days

Well for everyone in most of Oklahoma, you were off work and out of school today. However, that does not mean you necessarily used your time productively.  A lot of you slept, a lot of you ate a lot, and a lot of you finished 3 seasons of Mad Men.

As for me and my team, we got better today! Just because the weather isn't ideal and an outdoor workout may not be possible doesn't mean you shouldn't work out. For example, circuit workouts are great for strength and cardio. My team had a gym to practice in so we did stadiums, push-ups, squat jumps with weight, jump ropes, med ball throws against a wall, ab rollers and iron crosses. We did 4 rounds and I was sweating bullets when we were done. Nothing better than a little hard work on a icy and snowy day.

A make-shift circuit you can do at home is:

1 minute rounds
     planks
     v-sits
     squats
     standing frog hops
     in outs
     mountain climbers
     burpees
     curls

**Repeat this circuit about 3 times for a great little indoor workout! (try not to take more than 30 seconds between each exercise) Finish with some yoga stretching and feeling good about yourself.
