Basking in the Chaos

Hello all... I know it has been a gazillion years since my last post but thank you for still keeping up with me.. if you even still are? Well anyways life has finally slowed down a bit or went from a full speed sprint to a brisk jog. I am on summer break finally after an exhausting year working in a public school. I am currently working part-time and helping coach a youth track team. As most of you know my dream is to go get my masters degree and find a coaching job at a college somewhere and teach some English adjunct classes... well I am happy to announce I will be taking that next step in the fall of this year! I start my masters classes at University of Central Oklahoma in August. I will be studying adult education and hopefully have my degree by the summer of 2017. I am also going to be working as a graduate assistant under my very own, very intelligent and recent college coach. I am very excited for all I will learn in this process. I am also very blessed that although I will not being working in a classroom anymore I will still be coaching at the high school level too.

I have enjoyed every minute of coaching a team and the awesome excitement of seeing an athlete succeed and fail. Sometimes its like rewinding and watching your life in action through another person. I can't begin to tell you how frustrating coaching was at times this year but also how appreciative I am that I struggled through it. I think you know you'e found your dream job when a bad day at work still leaves you loving what you do.

Tomorrow morning I leave for the Great Southwest Track and Field Classic in Albuquerque, NM. I went back in 2009 and 2010 as an athlete and now I am going as a coach, I am very anxious to have a weekend spent around some of the greatest high school athletes in the Southwest region and of course around the Oval Office. So here's to less stress the summer, a lot of coaching, a lot of training and of course more fun!
