Being YOU and a Follower of Christ

Hello, Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I'll make this one worth the read to make up for lost time. Basically what I want to write about today is more of something that has been really bothering me lately, I find myself in conversations about God with many people (which a recognize as a good thing considering I am put on this earth to share my faith) however It always seems like they start to judge my every action after I tell them I serve in the church or that I am a follower of Christ. It's like as "Christians" we have this expectation to be so cookie-cutter and uniform. I hate when people say things like 'you shouldn't have secular friends, you shouldn't go out it's sinful, you shouldn't take selfies it's vain.' As someone who hears things like this being said by other believers you start to live in fear of what others might think or say. I don't believe that is what God intends for your life.

God made you in his own image, He knitted you together in your mothers womb. No two people on the earth were made to be the same.

PROOF > Isaiah 64:8
"Yet You, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, You are the potter, we are all the work of your hand."

So why on earth would God make the people He chose to be His prophets all exactly alike one another? Sure we all share a love for the all-mighty Savior but we are created to stand-out. We all have such special and unique talents. Some are speakers to many and others excel in intimate conversations with few, some of us are loud and exciting others are great at connecting and being personal. I know many followers of Christ who are some of the most fun and hilarious people I know. 'Who says being a Christian is boring? It's not! Finding who you truly are in Christ doesn't mean giving up your personality. If God made you a loud person it's because He wants to use you and He needs your loudness.

PROOF > 1 Peter 4:10-11
"God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen."

So I am encouraging myself to be passionately ME. To be who God created me to be yet not lose the sinless things that make me, me!  I'm also encouraging myself to not judge others. Honestly by outer appearance you cannot tell a Christ follower from a lost soul so we should NEVER ever assume who we think someone is based upon what we see with our eyes.
